Luminaries Woburnensis – stemming from the latin “to shine”, this atmospheric night time walk is not to be missed.
Kicking off with a view of the Chinese Dairy, the walk will continue with views of art installations, ice sculptors and the opportunity to launch your own lantern across the lake – a feast for all our photographers!

Speaking of feast, there is food and hot drinks available to buy on the night (cost £10) however they accept CASH payments only.

Sign-up deadline:  29th of November @ 13:00 (as need to book tickets)
Price:  £8 for members £10 for non-members
Meal provided?:  No but you can buy hot drinks and food there.
Gear: Please wear appropriate clothing.  This is an outdoor event and the route through the gardens will include walking on grass – which can get muddy in winter conditions.  Bring a torch if you want.

Walk around Woburn Abbey and Luminaries Woburnensis- Saturday 16th February

A delightful walk around Woburn Abbey, with charming views and a look at the Luminaries Woburnensis.

Walk itinerary: 
Meet in front of the NatWest bank                                                                                           Depart at 16:30
Total walk length: Not very long                                                                                           Return: circa 22:00 hours

Note: The path should be paved, however it will be cold so wrap up warmly!

The Cost will be £8 for members and £10 for non-members. This will cover the cost of entry to the Luminaries

Note: There is transport involved and only limited seats available. So, HURRY UP!!! You will not be able to turn up on the day without prior booking

Saturday 14 July: Woburn Abbey deer park POSTPONED

Update on Saturday morning 14 July:  MESSAGE FROM Diane, our walk leader: I walked the route Wednesday morning and it was flooded in places because of all the rain we are having. I had two other routes in mind where we  could have walked on  hard surfaces, but this morning I have been out in the car to have a look and the river is up so high and over the banks in places that no way could we get through. Verdict: WALK POSTPONED until another date TBC.

Walk itinerary:       
Meet in front of Cafe Bookshop,                                                                                                 Depart at 13.00hours                                                                                                                   Return back circa 17.30 hours                                                                                                           Total walk length: circa 10 km (circa 6.5 miles)                                                                             Walk leaders:  Diane and Alan (School of Engineering)                                                       Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for a walk on country footpaths – it is likely to be muddy and we may get a rain shower                                                     Bring a drink & a snack.                                                                                                                Transport: car sharing – Please let us know whether you require transport or have available spaces in your car to offer.

Repeat of one of our popular walks: join us on a short drive less than 10 miles from Cranfield University to the pretty Woburn – one of the most historical towns in Bedfordshire. The walk takes us on a public footpath through the beautiful grounds of Woburn Abbey  and the deer park.
