Saturday 29 September: Afternoon walk to Lodge Farm

Walk itinerary:       
Meet in front of Cafe Bookshop by the large chestnut tree                                                     Depart at 12.30hours                                                                                                                     Return back circa 16.30 hours                                                                                                           Total walk length: circa 5 km (3 miles)                                                                                     Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for a walk on country footpaths.
There are some stiles to climb over.                                                                                                                 There is no cost associated with attending this walk, just turn up.           

Join us for a short walk to  Angela’s farm shop at Lodge Farm on the outskirts of the quintessentially English village of  North Crawley.  

Expect some delicious cakes and ice cream. And a great opportunity to ask Angela about Lodge Farm’s non-homegenised milk, say hello to the cows  and chickens or have a go at the trampoline.

A walk to Lodge Farm is one of the most popular local walks that Cranfield University’s students enjoy – check some of the photos from our past walks there!-)

Cranfield University Walks special summer eventA walk, BBQ,quiz, raffle and awards – including announcement of winners of our best photo competition –  all in one event! 
Update on 6 July: this event has now been cancelled, mainly due to lack of available volunteers who would help to organise it. Prizes from our sponsors will be distributed to the winners of our best photo competition.

Come &  join us for a fun packed early evening to celebrate the good times that this society has provided to its student members and pay tribute to those special people who have made telling contributions to its success. Starting with a stroll across the fields from Cranfield University to North Crawley and a walk back at the end of the awards.

Tuesday 5 June: Party in The Park

Invitation to join Cranfield’s Party In The Park in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Tuesday 5th June, 5pm-10pm.

Location: Recreation Ground, High Street, Cranfield village  (see map)
Bring a picnic (alcohol is permitted)
Live music with Swede Dreamz, Royal British Legion Piper, Sound Familiar Community Choir, The Crazy Frog and The Muckabouts.
Finishing with an aerial firework display by Alchemy Fireworks.
 
The party is supported by CSA. There is no walk organised from Cranfield University to the Party in The Park – those wishing to walk across on the footpath that circumnavigates the airfield, can download a map from the university’ intranet. Location of the map on the intranet:

Sunday 3 June: Cream teas at North Crawley WALK CANCELLED

latest update; walk has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, cream teas are still on at North Crawley’s village hall at 3pm

Meet in front of Cafe Bookshop,                                                                                                 Depart at 14:00 hours                                                                                                                     Return back circa 17.30  hours                                                                                                           Total walk length: circa 6.6 km (4 miles)                                                                                     Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for a walk on country footpaths – it may be muddy. Light rain expected – wear a waterproof jacket. 
There are some stiles to climb over.                                                                                                                                                       Cost – under £5 ( just checked by ksodo: exact cost unknown, bring a change with you for cream teas

Special invite from our friends from the North Crawley’s Historical Society: Join us for a stroll across the field to North Crawley where at the village hall traditional English cream teas will be served from 15.00 hours as part of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, 2012 celebrations. Followed by a visit to the flower display at St. Firmin’s Church, North Crawley.
