Lake District (Fri 28/03/14-Sun 30/03/14)
Join us for our next weekend hike, where we complete our second “highest peak” on our to-do list. Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England is 978m high. Note: This will be the most technically difficult of our hikes so far so a good level of fitness is required.
We will be hiking both days (Saturday and Sunday) covering over 30km.

Gear: | NO GEAR, NO GO policy for this trip. This means that walking boots (NO other shoes!), waterproofs (including waterproof trousers), warm clothes and a NON-COTTON base layer are a must for this trip. NO jeans please! |
Other information: | Transport: car sharing, drivers sought, fuel costs will be paid. Journey duration: 4.5 hours one way (265 miles). Food: For both days of walking you will need to provide yourself with a packed lunch, some high energy food to keep you going throughout the day and at least 1.5 litres of water. |

Stanwick lakes (Sat. 18/01/14)
Join us to explore the countryside around Stanwick lakes. We will walk along lakes to the abandoned medieval village of Mallows Cotton. Stanwick Lakes is a natural reserve in the heart of Northamptonshire’s beautiful Nene Valley. We will come back at the Stanwick lakes by crossing the village of Little Addington.

Saturday 11th May: Odell-Harrold country park
A yummy walk, both the sights and the cake!
From Odell, Mill Lane/Horsefair Lane. This is a 5 1/2 miles circular route, gently ascending to the high ground in the bends of the River Great Ouse with great views when walking the ridge and on the way down (they say you can see five churches). Stop at Harrold visitor centre where tea and cake is available (optional). After this we will continue on to see the woodcarvings, finishing with a walk by the river. Bring a drink and snack for the break half way round; there are the usual styles and steps, wear appropriate footwear and clothing for a walk in the country.
Meet by the Natwest bank @ 1:30 p.m.
The walk will cost £5 for members, £7 for non-members as there is transport involved, depending on numbers if there is money left over we will add it to the cake fund 🙂
