Woburn Deer Park (Sat. 17/05/14)
Woburn Deer Park was set up by the Dukes of Bedford a few hundred years ago as a private ground to keep deer for hunting. The whole landscape gives scenic vistas with small hills, valleys, individual trees and wooded areas.
The walk will mainly be in the parkland, the woods, country paths and a bit of road. Usually we could see six different herds of deer! There is a very pleasant place for the lunchtime stop, where we can sit down on benches with view of a traditional village cricket ground and maybe undercover.
