Exploring Cranfield – part 1, to the East (Sat. 19-10-2013)

Posted on Updated on

Exploring Cranfield – part 1 is a walk from Cranfield walking down into Marsden Vale to the East and back along the ridge. Besides taking in some quite beautiful lovely country views along the way, we can as well get to know some local industrial, social and geological history. Let’s walk around Cranfield and get to know the place where we live!

Paul, who is going to lead this walk, is an experienced and keen rambler from Cranfield Village. He has kindly lead quite a few walks in and out Cranfield last year, and he is going to lead a few walks this year too.

Haven’t had a chance to make it to the village yet? Well join us for this off road walk, taking the public bridleway around the airfield. Along the way we will be looking at some of the edible and interesting plants in the hedgerows. Once at the village you can buy the classic British special of fish & chips (or Indian or Chinese takeaway).

Angelas’ Lodge Farm walk (Sun. 06-10-2013)

Posted on Updated on

Enjoy this easy peasy pre-season walk to the Lodge Farm!

If you have been in Cranfield the last year, you must be eager to get walking and socializing again (these last two weeks must have been tough for you as well 😉 ). If you are a new student, come and meet some new awesome people, maybe encounter your first English sheep, and taste the delicious products of the farm shop (cake, milk, ice cream, vegetables, bread…).

And who knows, we may end up in North Crawley having a beer in the Cock Inn or in the Cranfield Social Club 🙂 For the new English speakers, a teacher of mine told me once “one pint helps your English, however, five don’t”.
