Sunday 16th December: Rambling with the Ramblers
Be a part of the Olney Ramble Sunday…
Itinerary:
Meet at 9:30 am in front of Cafe Book shop.
We will meet up with Paul Boatfield at 10 am, at an old Market Square (where the famous pancake race starts) after leaving the road we are going across fields and leading up to the village of Clifton Reynes where there is a fine example of the Ridge and Furrow, an ancient form of cultivation and fine views across the valley, the whole area has a very mediaeval feel to it. We will be coming out of the village on a traditional bridleway across the river and then walking back through the streets of this ancient town of Olney.
Cost: Free walk for members and 2 pounds for non members!
But please confirm your participation by the 14th (Friday). So that appropriate transport arrangements can be made.
Please note: It’s liable to be cold and wet underfoot so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a country ramble and bring something to drink and eat (may be a banana or biscuit) as we have a short break about halfway through.
The walk will be about 9.5 km (6 miles) finishing approximately about 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

Friday 3rd August: Clifton Reynes walk with fish & chips
Explore the beautiful countryside that surrounds Cranfield University
Itinerary: Meet at 5.30pm in front of Kings Norton Library. Return before 9pm. Places in a minbus are limited – book yours by emailing walking@cranfield.ac.uk Cost: bring cash for fish & chips supper in Olney (about £4.50) and a drink at Robin Hood pub.
Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for a walk in the countryside.

A repeat from last year’s mini series of special natural history walks led by Alan Nelson (School of Applied Sciences). Alan has in-depth knowledge of fauna and flora; dragonflies in particular.
After a short ride to the quintessential English village of Clifton Reynes, a lovely walk across the fields to the historical town of Olneywill follow. We will stop in Olney for fish & chips picnic supper at the town’s market square. A walk back to Clifton Reynes will finish with a stop for drinks at Robin Hood pub.
