Join us for our first weekend hike of the year, where we will be exploring the moors and dales, rivers, springs and caverns of the beautiful Peak District National Park.

We will be staying in a caving hut so you will need a sleeping bag

Itinerary: depart on Friday afternoon from Cranfield University, hiking on Saturday, meal on Saturday night. We will do a shorter hike on Sunday morning before going on a cave tour  and returning to Cranfield on Sunday evening. Detailed program will be available nearer to the date of each trip

We need drivers so if you are happy to drive and take three others can you let us know in your email

Fort William, Scotland (Sun 13/07/14-Wed 16/07/14)

So at last it’s here, the trip to Scotland, and our final peak! Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK stands at 1344m

Yorkshire Dales (Fri 02/05/14-Sun 04/05/14)

Next weekend trip! Hiking in the Yorkshire Dales. Routes haven’t been finalised yet but ideas include the Yorkshire three peaks (over 40km on Sat), perhaps a cave trip on Sunday. A good level of fitness is required for this trip. You will need a sleeping bag for this trip

Lake District (Fri 28/03/14-Sun 30/03/14)

Join us for our next weekend hike, where we complete our second “highest peak” on our to-do list. Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England  is 978m high. Note: This will be the most technically difficult of our hikes so far so a good level of fitness is required.

Hiking in Snowdonia National Park (1 to 3/11/2013)

Join us for our first weekend hike of the year, where we complete our first “highest peak” on our to-do list. Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales is 1085m high.

We will be hiking both days (Saturday and Sunday) covering over 30km.

Cost: £60 members, £70 non-members. Cost includes: transport, 2 nights accommodation in YHA hostel Bryn Gwynant, breakfast on Saturday & Sunday morning and an evening meal on Saturday night.

Transport: car sharing, 2 more drivers sought, fuel costs will be paid. Journey duration: 3.5 hours one way (186 miles). Food: For both days of walking you will need to provide yourself with a packed lunch, some high energy food to keep you going throughout the day and at least 1.5 litres of water. Itinerary: depart on Friday afternoon from Cranfield University, return back on Sunday evening. Detailed program will be available nearer to the date of each trip. Guide: An experienced walk leader and a former walking club member.

5th-7th July – Hadrians Wall

Join us for this delightful walk along the historic wall, built by the Romans in AD122 to define the edge of the great Roman empire.

5th-7th July – Hadrians Wall, covering the most intact part of this historic wall.

Cost: £70 for members, £75 for non-members, cost includes, two nights accommodation, two breakfasts, a dinner on Saturday, transport and entry into the Roman Army Museum.

Sign up in the CSA by paying a £20  deposit by Friday 29th June.

31 May- 2 June walking weekend in Lake District, cost: £50 members only. Cost includes: 2 nights accommodation in YHA hostel in Ambleside; breakfast on Saturday and Sunday; and an evening meal on Saturday evening.

Walks: Moderately challenging – Saturday walk about 14 miles. Shorter walk on Sunday morning. Exact program to be confirmed. Example route 1 and route 2.
